Privacy Policy

SupplyTeacher is operated by Benjamin Van Arragon, a sole proprietor in Ontario, Canada ("SupplyTeacher", "we"). This policy explains what we collect when schools use SupplyTeacher to fill teacher absences, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Supply teachers: name, mobile number, optional email address, the school roster you are on, the date and method of your text message consent, and any opt-out.
- School staff: name, work email, optional phone number, and the absences they report, including dates, absence type, notes and lesson-plan files.
- Messages: a log of texts we send and the replies we receive (the phone number, the message text and the time).
How we use it
Only to run the service: to offer supply assignments, record who accepted them, give the accepting supply teacher the lesson plans, notify school administrators, and keep the records a school needs. We do not use your information for advertising or marketing.
Text messaging
We text you only after you have consented, and only about supply assignments. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Who we share it with
- The school whose roster you are on. Its administrators can see your roster details and the assignments you accept. One school cannot see another school's data.
- Service providers who run the service for us, only as needed to do that: Twilio (text messages), Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (web hosting), Resend (email) and Inngest (scheduling). They may store or process data in Canada or the United States.
- Anyone the law requires us to disclose information to.
We never sell personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep roster and assignment records while a school uses SupplyTeacher, so the school has its staffing history. When a school stops using SupplyTeacher, or when you ask us to remove you, we delete your information unless the school needs to keep it for its own records.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw your consent to texts, by emailing hello@supplyteacher.ca or by replying STOP. We will respond within 30 days.
